George B. Francetic

George B. Francetic, of White Oak, died July 21, 2012. He was born on July 13, 1920 in McKeesport and is the son of the late Marko and Catherine Roper Francetic. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years; Dolores Susce Francetic, dear son; Bernard G. Francetic of White Oak, sisters; Catherine (Stephen) Bialobok of Duquesne and Evelyn Ravey of Oakmont and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings; Rose Usko, Mark and Lawrence Francetic.

He was in the 317th Squadron 3rd Air Corp Reconnise during World War ll. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 52, St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak where he served as an usher and previously a member of St. Pius Church in McKeesport where he also served as an usher.

He was gifted with musical talent. He played the drums, saxophone, mandolin and guitar. He performed in the first established Air Corp Army Band during World War ll. He was also blessed by God in carpentry work. He built his own home, furniture and did remodeling work. In his later years he enjoyed building bird houses and delicate carpentry. In earlier years he was a self-employed heavy equipment operator.

He was a very kind person and was always there to help anyone.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at St. Angela Merici Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow.
