George Joseph Dean

George Joseph Dean, Sr., 68, of Port Vue passed peacefully on August 16, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in McKeesport on June 21, 1944 and is the son of the late Joseph and Isabel Tomlins Dean. He worked as a welder for Reliance Steel and was a former driver for Pittsburgh Transportation & Lenzor Tours. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a Life Member of the Port Vue Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of the White Oak American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; Lynda Winter Dean, sons; George (Mary Kay) Joseph Dean, Jr. of White Oak and Jason Gentile of McKeesport, grandchildren; Nicole, Shawn and Jenna Dean of White Oak, and Jason Gentile, Jr. of McKeesport, siblings; Alfred "Ted" Dean of Trafford, Joseph Dean of Blairsville, Nancy (Walter) Plezniak of Linesville, and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Mon. 3-5 & 7-9. Service will be Tuesday at 11:00 am. in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
