G. Evelyn Volpe, age 94, died April 27, 2014. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on Oct. 19, 1919 and is the daughter of the late Oakey Dye and Inez Belle Dezell Coover. She is the wife of the late Raymond Volpe. She was a volunteer at Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Wichita University.
She is survived by her children; Chester (Nancy) Volpe of Superior, Colorado, Joseph (Claudia) Volpe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mallay (Dee) Volpe of White Oak and Evie (Ivan Judd) Kee of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, grandchildren; Christopher (Kathy) Volpe, Cassandra (Masaki) Volpe Horii, Mallay, Joshua, and Tyler Volpe and Hilary Kee, great-grandchildren; Sophia Volpe and Maya Horii, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow.
