Freddie Taylor, 62, of Penn Hills, formerly of McKeesport, died Friday, March 6, 2015. He was born Aug. 19, 1952, in McKeesport, the son of Paul Taylor, of Penn Hills, and the late Virgie Manns Taylor. He was a 1970 graduate of McKeesport Area High School and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He retired as supervisor from the Department of Welfare in Pittsburgh. In addition to his father, Paul, he is survived by his sister, Denise Taylor, of Duquesne; nephews, Frederick Taylor, of Pittsburgh, Christopher (Regina) Taylor, of Duquesne, Duane Wade (Chrissi Smith), Hampton of Pittsburgh, Dorian (Shaleta) Taylor, of Baltimore, Md., and Apaulo Taylor, of Baltimore, Md.; nieces, Shala (Eddie) Miller, of Winston Salem, N.C., and Pamela Tracey (Jerome) Jackson, of Pittsburgh; stepdaughter, Erica Howard, of Ohio; great-nieces and nephews, Shaquanna Hampton, Christopher E. Taylor, Malaysia Meador, Jadyn Miller, Jerrae Jackson, Christiana Taylor, Amora C. Taylor, Jasmine Taylor and London Taylor; stepnephew and niece, Mario V. Dismute and Bethani D. Crump; aunt, Georgia Manns, of McKeesport; and sister-in-law, Ernestine Taylor, of Baltimore, Md. He was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara Hampton and Paul Taylor. Friends will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the HUNTER-EDMUNDSON-STRIFFLER FUNERAL HOME, 600 Market St., McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-6191).
