Frank E. Ratesic, 99, of McKeesport, died Nov. 20, 2012. Born in Versailles Borough April 1, 1913 he was the son of the late Matthew and Barbara Bishop Ratesic and the husband of the late Helene Bohenek Ratesic.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of Post 701 American Legion in White Oak and a member of St. Angela Merici Parish. He was employed as a machinist at U.S. Steel National Tube for 42 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his son, Frank (Peg) Ratesic, Jr. of McKeesport; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Mumpower, Michael (Michelle) Ratesic, Francis Bulischeck, and Alexandria McCaskey; great-grandchildren Joshua, Emma and Mia Ratesic and Zachary, Luke and Jake Mumpower; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughters, Hedy Bulischeck and Mary McCaskey; and siblings, Katherine Valkovic, Ann Uhrin, Joseph, Michael, and Steven Ratesic.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sat. at 10 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church at with the Very Rev. Stephen Chervenak officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Vue.
