Florence LaVonne Carson

Florence LaVonne “Donnie” Carson, age 77, of McKeesport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in McKeesport on August 30, 1946 and is the daughter of the late William and Sara Maglicco McVicker. Donnie was an avid baker and cook and loved sharing recipes. She cooked for those in need at the 9th Street Clinic for many years. Her faith and love of the Lord and family was very strong. 

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Atkinson of McKeesport; John (Kimberly) Carson of Port Vue; Connie Carson of McKeesport; Teresa Carson of McKeesport; Jeremiah McVicker of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Angelique; Robert; Kira; Cassandra; Jack; Diamond; Joshua; Samantha; Adriana; Harper; great-grandchildren, Jillian; Olivia; Evan; Christian; Madison; Aria; Octavia; Kendra; Cody; brother, Vincent (Karen) McVicker of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Kathleen (David) DePodesta of White Oak; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Burial will take place.
