Elmer "Elmo" Balog, age 91, of McKeesport, died Friday, February 19, 2016.
He was born in McKeesport on January 3, 1925 and is the son of the late Moses
and Elizabeth Nemeth Balog. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A.
Ciborowski. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. He was employed at US
Steel National Works in McKeesport until he retired.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol (James) Bittner of Glassport and his
daughter-in-law, Suzanne Balog of McKeesport. In addition to his wife,
Dorothy, he is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Balog; brothers, James and
Alex Balog; and sisters, Elizabeth " Betty" Olyarnik and Elvira Cairelli.
Services were held yesterday at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary
Services Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski,
supervisor 412-678-6177).
