Elizabeth Domer Price

Elizabeth Domer Price, 90, died at 7:45 Monday evening, July 23, 2012. She was born Oct. 3, 1921 in the Star Junction area and is the daughter of the late John and Mary Kresovsky Domer of Czechoslovakia. She was the beloved mother of Michael of McKeesport and Mary of West Mifflin and grandmother of Anthony W. Ferguson. She was the wife of the late Stanley Price and was preceded in death by siblings; Stephen, Emil, John, Thomas, George, Albert, James and Clarence Domer and Helen Haramia, Margaret Moresea, Josephine Faeo and Mary Braum; and granddaughter Delina E. Ferguson.

Elizabeth grew up in Floreffe. In her younger years she was proud of her job as a waitress in then landmark Bud's Hotdogs in W. Elizabeth and was a cashier at State Theatre in Clairton. She also worked at the Clairton Mill during WWII. Later in life she was a wife and homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of the former Holy Cross Parish of Glassport and a current member of Corpus Christi Parish in McKeesport.

Elizabeth was very religious and patriotic. She loved having a small American flag in every flower pot and said the rosary several times daily. Even though she lived a hard life growing up through the Great Depression, a broken marriage, surviving breast cancer, and fighting multiple illnesses, she maintained a positive outlook on life. She visited other patients' rooms in her nursing home, played bingo daily and had a warm hello for everyone she passed. Everyone knew "Hun", a nickname she had from childhood; a name like honey but not sweet enough to describe the person who wore it.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass will be Friday 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Parish. Burial will follow.
