Edwin D. Coulter

Edwin D. Coulter, age 73, of McKeesport , died March 5, 2012. He was born in McKeesport on March 15, 1938 and is the son of the late George W. and Eliza Law Coulter. He is the husband of Jewell Petach Coulter and the father of Janice Altmiller, Jennifer Gault and Edwin D. Coulter, Jr. all of McKeesport and the grandfather of Heather, Casey, John, Katie and A.J. and great grandfather of Jayden.

He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Penn State and also attended Robert Morris. He was a businessman for many years. He was the owner of the former Bon Ton Store and the former Monarchs of Altoona, Johnstown and Indiana. He was an accountant in private practice in McKeesport. He was the M.C. and State Representative for the Greater McKeesport Jaycees Junior Miss Pagent for 10 years, a former member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club and Rotary Club and he formerly was a co- owner of MCM Rental Enterprises. He served on the Board of the Mon Yough Mental Health, Chairman of the McKeesport Ambulance Authority for 15 years and served as one of their original Board Members. He served as the Secretary for the McKeesport Housing Authority for 17 years and currently served as Treasurer. He was the City of McKeesport Emergency Management Coordinator for 6 years. He received the Jaycees Man of the Year Award in 1975 and the McKeesport Hospital Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award for EMS Services.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, Inc. , 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) Wed 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thurs 2:00- 4:00p.m. and 6:00- 8:00p.m. Mass at Corpus Christi Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow.
