Edward Longton, 65, of West Mifflin, died Oct. 2, 2012 of sudden and massive heart attack. He was born in Taunton, MA and is the son of the late John and Helen Trond of Berkley. He was retired as a chemical & safety engineer after many years. He was an avid sailor, a former member of the Moraine Sailing Club and Catalina 22 R.C., then sailed the Chesapeake with Judy on his Kalik 40 sloop. Ed was a gifted chef for his wife, family, and many appreciative friends over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Judith Ranker Longton; brothers Richard, David, and James Longton all of Massachusetts; loved by in-laws: Jean & Don Donatelli, Richard & Anne Ranker, Mary & Fred Miller, Kath & Ray Bouch, Cindy and the late David Ranker, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin Funeral Home, 740 Pgh.-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, 15034 (412 678 6192) on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. which will be officiated by his nephew, Rev. Raymond Ranker.
