Dennis John Popojas

Dennis John "Pop" Popojas, age 61, of Port Vue, died Jan. 25, 2015. He was born in McKeesport on Aug. 4, 1953, the son of Albert "Jake" and Theresa Bollas Popojas of Liberty Borough.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Vicky Carraher Popojas; son, Dennis Popojas of Pittsburgh; brother, Jeffrey (Mary Jane) Popojas of White Oak; sister, Terrie Lynn (Gary—–) Kolodziej of Corvallis, Oregon; cousin, Andy (Sandy) Popojas of N. Huntingdon, who was more like a brother to him, niece; Kristina Kolodziej of Corvallis, Oregon and many other cousins and nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Cathy Atkins of Liberty Boro.

Happiest when surrounded by friends and family, drinking in the wine and sun. Active and always moving toward brighter days, but never too busy to help anyone in need. His quick wit made every greeting memorable. He left his kindest words unsaid, but instead spoke with his actions. He will be missed.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (412 678 6177) on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held Friday in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.
