Cecilia Hlad

Cecilia Hlad, age 91, passed peacefully, Thursday, September 30, at home with her daughters by her side. She resided in North Huntingdon, PA, and was born in McKeesport, PA, parents Joseph and Anna Petrick. She is survived by daughters, Janice Hlad, Leslie Hlad, brother and sister in law Conrad and Gerry Petrick, nieces and nephews and extended family Paul and Nancy Piefer. Cecilia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen Hlad, sisters Mary Faychak, Margaret Mitala, Helen Taylor, Irene Lenhart, and brother Michael Petrick. Cecilia (Cil) was a member of the St. Agnes Church in North Huntingdon, PA. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 12:15pm at St. Agnes Church in North Versailles, immediately followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in North Versailles.
In life, Cil most cherished her role of Mom and was an extraordinary role model. She dearly loved her friends who were so much more to her, family is the right word. She loved her surrogate grandchildren, the furry ones that her daughters brought into our circle. And next to that, anyone who knows our Mom, knows that she loved a great meal and please don't forget dessert.
