Cecelia "Sarah" Mary Mols

Cecelia "Sarah" Mary Mols, age 97, of McKeesport, died early Christmas morning on December 25, 2022 at St. Anne Home in Greensburg, PA. She had the most joyous Christmas ever with her Lord and Savior. She was born in McKeesport on February 22, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Apolonia Yerkey Zajdel, and wife of the late Joseph Mols.

Cecelia and Joe were the owners of Cherry Lane Tavern on Grandview Avenue. Sarah, as the patrons referred to her, also volunteered at McKeesport Hospital and golfed at Butler’s Golf Course, while Joe retired from G.C. Murphy after proudly serving in the United States Army.

Cecelia was a member of the Polish National Alliance, Lodge #352 and along with her husband helped manage the club many, many years ago. She was also a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church (the former St. Mary Czestochowa Church) and the Christian Mothers. She loved to spend time with family, of course cook and bake, recite the rosary, and socialize.

Cecelia is survived by granddaughter, LonJean Krivda (William) Frederick of McKeesport; grandsons, Rick (Christine) Krivda of Baltimore, MD; Mike (Cathy) Krivda of Lutherville, MD; Shane Mols of Sewickley; and Devin Mols of Sewickley; great-granddaughters, Natalie Gregg; Caroline Krivda; and Jenna (Brent) Robertson; great-grandsons, Zachary N. Krivda; Nathan Krivda; Zachary O. Krivda; and Matthew (Emily) Bazuine; great great-grandson, Kameron Baker; great great-granddaughter, Madelyn Robertson; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Mols of North Versailles; and son-in-law, Francis “Rick” Krivda of McKeesport. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends in the McKeesport area. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Cecelia was preceded in death by her son, Joe Mols; daughter, Jean Krivda; and siblings, Wanda Wilk; Benjamin Zajdel; Otto Zajdel; Veronica Zajdel; Edward Zajdel; John Zajdel; Genevieve Myczka; Mary Gradich; Sophie Martynowski; and Joseph Zajdel.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Polish Cemetery in White Oak.
