Catherine Laverne Welty

Catherine Laverne Welty, 68, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. She was born Aug. 23, 1947, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Richard and Marian Wilson Sandusky. Catherine worked at Mon Yough Community Services as a residential aide for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Welty; daughter, Christie (Daniel) Garber, of North Huntingdon; granddaughter, Ginerva Garber; sister, Marilyn "Mona" Shoben, of White Oak; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Sandusky Jr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). There will be a service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
