Calliopi "Pitsa" Xides

Calliopi "Pitsa" Xides, age 90, of McKeesport, died July 30, 2011. She was born in Athens Greece on March 4, 1921. She was the wife of the late Gust D. Xides who was the proprietor of the former Star Restaurant and one of the founding members of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak. She was employed at the former Star Restaurant in McKeesport and the McKeesport Parking Authority. She loved to travel and was fluent in three languages; English, French and Greek.

She is survived by sons Robert G. (Sidney McCandless) Xides of Elizabeth Twp. and Attorney Byron D. Xides of White Oak, grandchildren Linda (Lewis) Benson, Atty. Robert (Patricia) Xides, Jr., David (Melissa) Xides and Jason Xides and great grandchildren Annie, John and Joshua.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Tuesday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm when services will begin with Fr. Andrew Clarke officiating. Burial will take place the following day at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
