Betty Catherine Little, age 86, of White Oak, PA, died on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 22, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Michael William and Velma C. Davis Hartigan. She was the wife of sixty-five years to the late Bernard James Little, Jr., who died on January 28, 2025. Betty was employed as an administrator in the spina bifida department at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Our mother, Betty, whose kindness, faith, and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her was a devoted woman of God, she lived her life with compassion, grace, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
She was the heart of our family, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who always put others first. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, music, and meals lovingly prepared for those she cared about. An excellent cook, gifted singer, and truly giving soul, she brought comfort and joy to everyone around her.
She leaves behind a family and countless friends who loved her dearly. While our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she is now home with the Lord, reunited with loved ones.
Her legacy of faith, kindness, love, and selflessness will live on forever in all who knew her. She was truly one of a kind and deeply loved.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Sherri (Larry) Bumbarger of White Oak, PA; and Linda (James) Devlin of New Castle, PA; grandchildren, Amy Saporito; Steven Bumbarger; Matthew (Katiara) Bumbarger; Jared Bumbarger; Megan (Cortez) Woods; Joshua (Brittany) Sprumont; Kayla (Trenton) Young; Madison Devlin; and Kassandra Devlin; and great-grandchildren, James Doka; Eliott Saporito; Maleah Bumbarger; Carter Bumbarger; Colton Bumbarger; and Harrison Sprumont; sister-in-law, Judy Hartigan of Taylor, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Hartigan; Patricia (the late Bill) Kellerman; and Ruth Link.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Betty’s memory on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6178). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church, 2701 Kelly Street, White Oak, PA 15131. A burial will follow.
