Beryl H. Sorg, age 93, of McKeesport, died May 19, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Port Vue on July 26, 1919 and is the daughter of the late John S. and Inez Crouch Harrison. She is the wife of the late Clarence J. Sorg. She worked in the Chemical Lab at U.S Steel Duquesne Works and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McKeesport, Women's Society, AARP Chapter 32 of McKeesport and a lifetime member of the YWCA.
She loved to travel and was an absorber of current events. She could engage in conversations on any topic from politics, pop music, sports, including her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by her nieces; Joyce Shields of Amherst, NH, Barbara (Cornelius) Hastings of Indiana, PA, daughter; Iris Marino of Pittsburgh, numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by siblings; Jack, Benjamin and Eleanor.
Friends will be received at Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home, 600 Market St., McKeesport, 15132 (412 678 6191) on Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 PM. Service will be Friday at noon at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
