Bassey Henshaw, age 64, of White Oak, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born on January 26, 1961, in Calabar, Nigeria, to Helen Duke and Ene Elijah Henshaw. Bassey earned a bachelors degree in Biology from Andrews University, Michigan and also earned her RN license from Olney Community College in Olney, Illinois. She went on to become a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse, devoting her life to the care and service of others.
A woman of deep faith, Bassey loved Jesus Christ and joyfully shared the gospel with all who would listen. Her life was a testimony of grace, strength, and unwavering love—for God, her family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bassey was the devoted mother of six children: Chidinma Iloanusi, Ijeoma Iloanusi, Uchechukwu Iloanusi, Chika Iloanusi, Paul Iloanusi, and Elijah Iloanusi. She was also the proud grandmother of four. Her legacy of love, wisdom, and faith lives on through them.
She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy she brought into every room. Her absence is deeply felt, but her spirit continues to inspire.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” — Psalm 91:1
