Barbara K. Weber, age 63, of McKeesport, formerly of Duquesne, took her journey to heaven on July 21, 2012. She was born in Braddock on Nov. 1, 1948 and is the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Gurgac Kmetz. She was a retired kindergarten and fourth grade teacher at Duquesne Elementary School, was known for her crocheting and making afghans and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband; Thomas Weber, nieces and nephews; Kim Anastas of Beaver, Michelle Decroo of Fox Chapel and Kevin Haney of Penn Hills, cousins; Mary Jo Wucher of Upper St. Clair, Joanne Gurgac of West Mifflin, Lorraine Chuba of Munhall and Ed Chuba of Munhall, lifelong friends: Cathy Petrulli and Lyle Petrulli of McKeesport and Godson; Leo Petrulli of White Oak. She is also surived by numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at Striffler of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 onTuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177). Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday and officiated by her nephew, Rev. Michael Anastas. Burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
