Barbara Ellen Hamilton

Barbara Ellen Hamilton, age 66, of White Oak, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born in Laredo, TX on August 4, 1958 and is the daughter of Dr. Robert W. (Ann) Hamilton of Elizabeth Twp., PA and the late Christine Hartman Hamilton, who died on July 26, 2024. Barbara was the wife of the late Joseph “Joe” W. Potts, who died on May 28, 2025.

Barbara trained at UPMC McKeesport in the radiological department as an X-Ray Technician. She began her career at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. After Barbara’s car accident and her long recovery, she went on to attend Penn State Greater Allegheny in McKeesport, PA for two years, and graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh. She later attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA for two years.

In addition to her father, Barbara is survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” H. (Colene) Hamilton of White Oak, PA; sister, Heather (Bryan) Baldwin of Greensburg, nephew, Robert, many cousins, extended family, friends, and especially family friend, Cindy.

Barbara was a free spirit and is now free from her limitations.

Due to Barbara’s love for animals, remembrances may be made to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven-No Kill Shelter, 2295 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131.
