Ann Ryan

Ann Ryan, age 89, of McKeesport, died January 8, 2011. She was born in McKeesport on August 7, 1921 and is the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Sowa. Wife of late Patrick J. Ryan, Jr. for 58 years. Retired from McKeesport Area School District as a math teacher for over 25 years. She is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and received her Masters of Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a First Lieutenant serving in the US Army. She was a Certified Physical Therapist at Walter Reed General Hospital Washington D.C. She belonged to the College Club of McKeesport, the Garden Club of McKeesport and PSEA.

She is the mother of Patrick J. (Lisa) Ryan of Fallbrook, California and Robert Ryan of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is the sister of Helen DeSimone of El Cajon, California. She was preceded in death by siblings Mary Fleckenstein, Rose, Walter, John, George, and Peter, Jr. Sowa.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincolhn Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor) 412 678 6177. Wednesday 4-7 P.M. Mass Thursday, 10A.M. at Corpus Christi Church. Burial to follow.
