Andrew S. Pazur

Andrew S. Pazur, age 89, of McKeesport, died Sept. 16, 2011. He was born in McKeesport on Sept. 4, 1922 and is the son of the late Michael and Mary Chemsak Pazur and was the husband of the late Charlotte Cobes Pazur. He was retired from USS National Tube as an electrical maintenance foreman, a decorated US army veteran serving in WW II and obtaining the rank of Technical Sergeant, a member of the National AARP, White Oak American Legion Post #701, a life member of the West Mifflin Elks #11, the Slovenian Society Sokol Lodge #87, the St. Joseph Polish Benevolent Society in Westmoreland City, a lifetime member and usher at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church and he was a founding member of the American Legion Post #1 in Paris, France during WW ll.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Eisele Pazur, children; Andrew S. (Friend Denise) Pazur, Jr. of Plymouth, Wisconsin, Thomas A. (Leslie) Pazur of Gibsonia, Paula (James) Pazur Balogh of N. Huntingdon, James W. (Ann) Pazur of Cranberry and Marysue (Keith) Pazur Kovach of N. Huntingdon, grandchildren; Lolita, Nicole, and Ryan Pazur, William Dawson, Blake Dawson Hoppe, Jamie Pazur Hyduk, Ribeka Kovach Garrity and the late Stephen Pazur. Also survived by great grandchildren; Alexander,Taylor and Quinn Dawson, Ellyse and Evan Hoppe, siblings; William (Dorothy) Pazur of Spring Hill, Florida, Mary Paulchak of N. Versailles and Alice McAlister of Birmingham, Alabama. He was predeceased by siblings; Ann Karnes, Margaret Wasko, Helen Peters, Michael and John.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sun. 6-8 pm and Mon. from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Services will be held on Tues. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church at 11 am. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors.
