Amerigo Peter D'Antonio, age 91 of Glassport went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born March 3, 1922 and is the son of the late Fedele and Elisa DiGiorgio D'Antonio and the husband of the late Virginia Haynik D'Antonio. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII.
He was employed by Copperweld, a member of the Glassport Sons of Italy and a member of the Queen of the Rosary Church. His passion was working with wood and he loved playing pinochle every Friday at the Glassport Senior Citizens Center. He was an avid fan of the Pirates and Steelers and an avid reader.
He is survived by his sons; Larry (Elyssa) D'Antonio of Port Vue, William (Jacquelyn) D'Antonio of Lititz, grandchildren; Brian (Liz), Angela, Christopher, Lauren and David, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings; Nicholas, John & Anthony.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Mass will be on Wednesday 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Parish. Burial will follow.
