Alfred "Ted" Dean, age 75, of Trafford, died May 30, 2013. He was born in McKeesport, on November 18, 1937 and is the son of the late Joseph and Isabel Tomlins Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Sedlmayer Dean. In addition he is survived by children; Richard (Charlene) Dean of McKeesport, Carol "Sissy" (William) Kengle of White Oak, David (Kelly) Dean of Port Vue, and Brian Dean of McKeesport and, nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings; Nancy (Walter) Plesniak of Linesville and Joe Dean of Robinson, longtime companion; Carol Birr with whom he resided, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother George (Lynda) Dean.

He worked for the CSX Railroad as a brakeman for many years as well as a conductor for PAT Train. He was also a member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701 where he was Past Commander and currently a member of the SAL. He also enjoyed watching horse and car racing and spending time at his camp.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Service will be held Tuesday in the Funeral Home Chapel at noon. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
