Helen L. Jordanhazy

September 12, 1931 — June 8, 2021

Helen L. Jordanhazy, fondly nicknamed “Bobbie”, age 89, of North Huntingdon, daughter of the late Frank Popeck and Catherine Krupinski Popeck Ayers, and stepfather, Theodore Ayers, was called peacefully home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. The wings of her angel collection helped to carry her to Heaven where she was met by her loving husband, Robert E. Jordanhazy, and sons, Alan, Keith, and Charlie. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Frank, Stanley, and Janet Popeck, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and her brothers and sisters-in-law.

Helen was survived by her loving family, son, Bruce W. Jordanhazy of Greensburg and daughters, Karen (Bill Zahratka) Jordanhazy and Lori McCauley of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Sarah Jordanhazy, Martin (Emily) Jordanhazy, Dr. Ryan (Katie) Jordanhazy, Jordan (BethAnn) McCauley and Kate McCauley; great-grandchildren, Miles Jordanhazy, Palmer and Lucy Jordanhazy, and Charlie Ann McCauley; step-grandchild, Heidi (Kevin) Stevenson, and step-great-grandchildren, Garrett and Kylie Stevenson. Also many cousins, nieces and nephews are survived.

Helen was a dedicated member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church of McKeesport. She was active in the Women’s Guild with baking, bingo, and noodle making. She lived for every Tuesday to be with her friends, the ladies. Her “loving” ways of motivating everyone to participate and work with her, will be missed by so many.
After raising five wonderful children, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Their favorites were always on the counter when she knew they were coming to visit. Great-grandchild, Miles, already has his favorite and joined those ranks. No matter what was going on, if family was around, Gramma was happy. Even in her final moments we know she was smiling, knowing we were all gathered together.

Family and friends are welcome at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM.
