Donald “Ducky” Gilmore, age 85, of South Fayette, formally of McKeesport, died on Monday, July 2, 2018. Born in McKeesport on November 22, 1932 and the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Mulally Gilmore. Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol by one day. He is survived by children; Raymond (Cathie) Gilmore of Pittsburgh, Gary Gilmore of Dallas, TX, Beth Gilmore Jones of Upper St. Clair, Donald (Kelly) Gilmore of South Fayette. Also survived by grandchildren; Kathryn and Christopher Jones, Olivia and Luke Gilmore, Katelyn, Raymond, Charlotte and Thomas Gilmore, and great-granddaughter; Milana Gilmore. Also preceded in death by grandson; Zachary Jones, brothers; Thomas Gilmore, Martin Gilmore, Raymond Gilmore and sisters; Rose Gilmore Busch, Katherine Gilmore Cready, Elizabeth Gilmore Schreiner and Marylou Gilmore. Donald was a renowned football player for the McKeesport Tigers who went on to play for the Miami Hurricanes.  His US Army military service took him to Japan for two years where he served as part of the general’s staff and specialized in telecommunications craft that prepared him for a long career with Motorola/Busch Radio.     He spent much of his free time coaching youth football and baseball in McKeesport and was a mentor for many young men. Family and friends will be received at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA (412-678-6177), on Friday July 6, 2018 from 3-9 pm. Mass will be held Saturday July 7, 2018 at St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak, PA 15131, at 10 am. Burial will follow at New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
